Texas ID Card

Photo identification is needed with nearly everything we do today- a trip to the supermarket, boarding a plane, applying for employment and so on.  In Texas, identification cards are issued to residents that apply that do not drive.   The photo identification card is issued by the Texas DPS- Department of Public Safety and used just as a state issued driver’s license.

Renewing Your ID Card

Texas ID cards must be renewed every six years.  For those under the age of 60 the renewal fee will be $16.  For those over the age of $60 the renewal fee will be $6.  Most Texas ID card holders have the option renewing their ID card online for an additional charge of $1.  For more information regarding renewing your ID card online visit  Identification Requirements for a Texas Driver License or Identification Card

Replacing an ID Card

If you have lost or had your ID card stolen you will need to replace it by visiting your local Driver License office.  You must bring with you proper identification as well as a fee of $10 payable in cash or check form for the replacement of the identification card.
