Graduated License Program in Texas The Graduated License Program in Texas is a requirement for all teens that are under the age of 18. This is a two phase program which ensures that the teen has the required knowledge and skill to move to their official driver’s license.

Texas Instructional Permit Texas, you are able to obtain an instruction permit at the age of 15. Prior to applying for your instructional permit you will have had to successfully complete a driver’s education program and all other necessary requirements. You will be required to enroll in a Texas DMV approved driver’s education program and to:

Provide proof of identity such as your certified birth certificate

Provide your Social Security card or documents that show proof of your Social Security number

Show proof that you are not only enrolled in school but regularly attending

Show proof of your liability insurance if you own your own vehicle

Signature of a parent or guardian

Each teen in Texas under the age of 18 will be required to follow the requirements of the Graduated License Program. This is a program that is offered in two phases to ensure that the teen is properly prepared for driving behind the wheel on the open highways and roads.

Teens will not only have to prepare themselves for through driver’s education but they will need to study the Driver Manual which is issued by the state.
