PA Voter’s Registration

Voting in any election, whether state-wide or national, requires that you register to vote. There is really no reason why you couldn’t register to vote as it is easy and quick and can often be done while you are getting your driver’s license or performing a variety of other tasks with the PennDOT or other government agencies.

There are a variety of reasons why you would register to vote in PA, including:

  • Recently moving to the state from another.
  • Moving from one county to another.
  • Reaching the age of 18.
  • Getting a new ID card in PA.
  • Getting a new driver’s license in PA.
  • Upcoming election and you aren’t already registered.

Registering to Vote in PA

Your first step is to determine your eligibility to vote in PA, which you can do at Voter Registration Requirements. If you determine that you are eligible, you can follow the steps provided below.

In-Person Registration

Visit a County Voter Registration Office, which you can find online. You will be then directed on the process to complete.

You can also visit any PennDOT office to complete registration with any services you receive.

There are several other agencies that you can choose to complete registration, such as:

  • State public assistance and service offices
  • Recruitment Centers for Armed Forces
  • County Clerk Offices
  • Center for Independent Living
  • Offices of Special Education

Mail-In Registration

  1. Obtain mail-in application from your state or the federal government. Mail-in forms are offered by the Secretary of the Commonwealth, as well as all the county registration commissions. Any person may receive these forms.
  2. You could also download the form at Online Voter  Registration Form Complete and sign the form and send to the County Voter Registration Office, or simply bring it in yourself.
