Colorado Alumni License Plates

The term "Alumni License Plate" refers to a special license plate established at the request of an alumni association of a private or public college or university in Colorado under section 42-3-214, C.R.S.

Design Of Alumni License Plate

Alumni License Plates must be designed within the Department's guidelines. The Department may deny any design that violates such parameters. After the design has been approved, the alumni association must submit a written request to the Department, signed by its designated representative. Documentation supporting the design change is required and may include, but is not limited to, issuance trends, current inventory levels, and change costs. If the change request is approved, the alumni association must pay all design costs directly to the Colorado Department of Corrections Division of Correctional Industries before producing the new design. Design changes become effective upon Department approval. Suppose approval is granted while existing inventory is still available, and the alumni association requests that the new plates be implemented before the sale of such inventory. In that case, the alumni association is responsible for all costs associated with the recall, collection, and destruction of existing inventory. Registered vehicle owners may continue to use their current alumni license plate regardless of any subsequent design change; however, such plate will not be replaced if the inventory is destroyed or exhausted or the Department has determined that additional plates of the prior design or designs will not be issued.

Air Force Academy License Plate

A person authorized by the United States Graduates of the Air Force Academy. Each certificate authorizing the issuance of the Air Force Academy License plate requires a $50.00 donation to the US Air Force Academy Association of Graduates. Fees:

Anyone who wishes to register their vehicle with the Colorado College license plate is welcome. Fees:

Colorado School Of Mines License Plate

The Colorado School of Mines Alumni Association has authorized this individual. Each certificate is only good for one set of license plates. In addition to other taxes and fees, there is a one-time fee of $50.00 for plate issuance and replacement. Fees:

Colorado State University License Plate

The CSU Alumni Association has authorized this individual. Each certificate is only good for one set of license plates. For each authorizing certificate, a qualified individual must donate $100.00 to the CSU Alumni Association. Fees:

Colorado State University-Pueblo License Plate

Anyone who wishes to have their vehicle registered with the CSU-Pueblo License Plate. Fees:

Colorado Mesa University License Plate

Anyone who wishes to have their vehicle registered with the Colorado Mesa University License Plate. Fees:

Fort Lewis College License Plate

Anyone who wishes to have their vehicle registered with the Fort Lewis College License Plate. Fees:

Metropolitan State University Of Denver License Plate

The Metropolitan State University of Denver Alumni Association has authorized this individual. Each certificate is only good for one set of license plates. The Metropolitan State University of Denver Alumni Association can be reached at (303)615-0055. Each qualifying individual must donate $50.00 to the Metropolitan State University of Denver Alumni Association. Fees:

Regis University License Plate

The Regis University Alumni Association has authorized this individual. Each certificate is only good for one set of license plates. The Regis University Alumni Association can be reached at (800)388-2366. Fees:

University Of Colorado License Plate

Anyone who contributes at least $50 to the CU License Plate Scholarship Fund. When your scholarship donation is received, you will be sent a certificate confirming your eligibility for the plate. Donate online at www.buffplates.com or call the CU Alumni Association at 303-492-8484 or (800) 492-PRIDE. For each certificate, a qualified individual must donate $50.00 to the CU Alumni Association. Fees:

University Of Denver License Plate

A certificate valid for one set of plates will be issued to a person authorized by the University of Denver Alumni Association. For each authorized certificate, a qualified individual must donate to the University of Denver Alumni Merit Scholarship Fund via the University of Denver Alumni Association. Fees:

University Of Northern Colorado License Plate

A certificate valid for one set of plates will be issued to a person authorized by the University of Northern Colorado Alumni Association. The University of Northern Colorado Alumni Association can be reached at (970) 351-2551. For each certificate, a qualified individual must donate $50.00 to the UNC Alumni Association. Fees:

Western Colorado University License Plate

A certificate valid for one set of plates will be issued to a person authorized by Western Colorado Alumni Relations. Western Colorado Alumni Relations can be reached at 970-943-3464. For each authorizing certificate, a qualified person must contact Western Colorado Alumni Relations. Fees:
